the_figjam_city.jpgFIGJAM Apparel Inc. is a Canadian owned and operated apparel and marketing Company based out of North Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON. FIGJAM caters to the action sport industry with a new take on things, portraying the art of sport through its apparel line.

 

FIGJAM is a streetwear clothing company designed by artists to symbolize and embody the art and culture of action sports. The action sport culture is one that sets its own rules, follows no establishment, creates through individualism and exudes confidence through actions. The FIGJAM clothing line is an artistically designed and inspired line that brings out these qualities through its apparel. FIGJAM strongly believes that the sports of skateboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing and skiing represent a form of art, and therefore the clothing these individuals choose to wear should also be treated as such. Canadian based artists and designers from places like the Emily Carr Institute, University of Alberta Liberal Arts School, Toronto’s Liberal Arts School and many more, make up the team of artist that design the FIGJAM clothing line.

One of FIGJAM’s largest contributions to the action sports industry is their desire to provide a vehicle for those who want to make a name for themselves within the world of action sports. FIGJAM has developed a specific marketing group within its company that targets elite and up and coming amateur athletes involved in these sports. FIGJAM supports, sponsors and markets them in hopes that they can achieve their own dreams. Currently FIGJAM sponsors athletes across Canada. Director of Marketing- Justin Hanna states, “what we are doing at FIGJAM is supporting the action sport culture by supporting those who are on the front lines. The amateurs really are the culture of action sports. We at FIGJAM not only wanted to have a clothing line that reflects the individual spirit of the action sport culture, we also want to provide amateur athletes with real and measurable support. We are one of the only companies in Canada that does this as part of our business model.”

FIGJAM is different than its competitors in a variety of ways. The company believes in representing the art and culture of action sports through its apparel and overall company direction. In addition, FIGJAM also has a dedicated Marketing Group that works with retailers to promote and market the action sport culture in their communities. 

FIGJAM’s first line of clothing, launched in 2007, brought in successful sales and feedback from customers, storeowners and buyers. Their unique designs reflect the talents of Canadian designers and artists as well as innovative detailing unlike anything seen before.
